Jason went to Framwellgate Moor Comprehensive School, which he left in 1989 to go to Sheffield University where he read Mathematics. Having graduated in 1992 with a BSc Hons, he went to the University of Northumbria to take the Common Professional Examination in 1993. He completed the Bar Vocational Course at the Inns of Court School of Law in 1995 and was called to the Bar by Lincolns Inn in 1995. Jason then went on to commence pupillage with Bank House Chambers in 1996, and was successful in his application for tenancy with Bank House.
